This new version boasts a larger wing, increased fuel and payload capacity, beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) capability, and internal weapons bays, making it a versatile and formidable asset for military operations. The Ghost Bat's evolution is a testament to the rapid advancements in the CCA market, with Boeing and Rheinmetall's partnership driving its development and potential deployment in Germany by 2029.
One of the most notable features of the Block 3 is its internal weapons bays, which can carry a single AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) or two Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) precision-guided munitions. This capability is a significant development, as it allows the Ghost Bat to operate in contested environments without diminishing its low-observable characteristics. The internal storage also provides flexibility for mission configuration, enabling operators to balance payload and endurance as needed.
The Ghost Bat's BLOS capability is another crucial enhancement, allowing it to be operated at unlimited standoff distances from a ground station, naval vessel, or crewed aircraft.
